This tribe has a lot of information and wisdom about astrology. We can learn a lot from these types of ancient peoples and groups while also helping them in exchange for all the wisdom groups like these all over the world have been kind enough to share with outsiders.How did they know so much about the stars? The Dogon taught outside 20th century visitors its legends and beliefs which turned out to be surprisingly accurate. I say it is surprising because people disregard peoples indigenous peoples beliefs as "just myths". I didn't like how this tribe was referred to as "primitive" even though the Dogon where the ones that taught the visitors what they knew. Instead of doing the correct thing which was to thank the Dogon people, and respect their customs, culture and knowledge the visitors instead began to wonder how a "primitive" people knew so much.
The way this tribes legends describe the universe reminds me of a physics professor explaining alternate universes and quantum entanglement. According to this tribe the explanation for the Big Bang is that a star got too heavy/dense and imploded on itself. This reminds me of Albert Einstein because Einstein could observe a natural phenomena, ponder the behavior or structure and make a hypothesis. Einstein, Carl Sagan, John Von Neumann, Richard Feymann all were great minds who broke complicated concepts and ideas down into digestible pieces. They made that information understandable and useful for themselves and others. riding a train home and visualizing "time dilation" through the hands of a clock and pondering if the hands on the clock would be affected if the train he was going on started going faster and faster? What if the train Einstein was riding on could go at the speed of light or near the speed of light would the hands on the clock on the wall move the same speed as before?
This ability to look at the nature and explain how the world works, why rain drops, what time even is, why the earth spins, what planets orbiting are,why the Big Bang happened; is incredible. This ability and these discoveries come through conducting experiment's, asking questions, question's and making observation like seeing the sun shine down against the shadows and thinking "shadows connect to the relationship between the earth and the sun". These great scientific discoveries and questions (a great question is just as useful as a great answer in science) come from people of all genders, ethnicities,backgrounds,ages and religions. I truly believe we would live in a more technological advanced society we paid more attention to different cultures ideas
