"The Business Administration program has a dual mission (transfer and workforce) in providing students with the theoretical knowledge and practical skills to prepare for transfer to four-year institutions and to pursue a career or to develop their own businesses.
Students are provided the courses necessary to pursue studies in specialized business fields such as accounting, finance, advertising, marketing, management, banking, and business information systems...Additionally, the department offers coursework and activities for increased professional proficiency, career changes, or new employment challenges, as well as for small business development...The Business department's small business entrepreneurship program...emphasis will be on skill areas in leadership, communication, collaboration, project management, and innovation.
Program Learning Outcomes:
-Students will demonstrate appropriate use of business terms and concepts across a standard breadth of business functions (R&D, Mfg, Sales, Mktg, Ops, IT, Acctg, Finance, etc.).
-Students will demonstrate appropriate use of analytical frameworks, methods, and skills in response to business questions, cases, and projects.
Career Opportunities:
Careers in marketing, sales, advertising, personnel management, accounting, finance, market research, business advisory, and risk management. Additionally, opportunities in the development of new small businesses are also available through our program.

Program Goals and Objectives:
The goal of the Data Analytics Certificate is to offer practical training in the most essential skills and tools used by businesses and organizations to analyze data to find actionable insights, and drive data-based decisions to increase business success. The demand for data professionals -- who are fluent in the latest data analytics techniques and methods combined with the business acumen needed to apply their skills strategically in today’s business environment – has never been greater and promises to be a rich source of career opportunity for the foreseeable future. With a strong focus on students from diverse populations, the Data Analytics Certificate will provide individuals with an opportunity to benefit from the strong growth in data analytics job positions that require the skills offered by this certificate.
Program Learning Outcomes:

Upon completion of the program, the student will have acquired the necessary basic skills to conduct data analytics projects in a typical business environment.

Upon completion of the program, the student will be able to demonstrate appropriate critical thinking, problem-solving skills and communication skills to contribute to effective data analytics in a business organization.
Advanced Software Development Certificate of Achievement

Computer programming, algorithms, data structures, and languages play an increasingly important role in academic, science and business careers. The Associate in Science degree satisfies the transfer requirements of many disparate 4-year colleges and universities. Our up-to-date curriculum is also valuable for enhancing the career opportunities of working professionals.
Program Learning Outcomes:
-Students will be able to use standard software engineering tools to create reusable code.
-Students will be able to design a large program that takes advantage of existing code libraries.
-Students will be able to organize a complex program in a logical way, enabling the extension of the program.
-Students will be able to comprehend user requirements and produce code and documentation in an industry-accepted style that satisfies those requirements.
-Students will be able to develop software that solves problems in a variety of fields, including math, physics, chemistry, biology, astronomy, business, and the Internet.
Career Opportunities:
The local Silicon Valley industry continues to need qualified software engineers, system administrators, software quality assurance engineers and systems integrators

The Graphic & Interactive Design Program offers training for careers in the exciting, dynamic fields of graphic design, UI/UX design, web design, game design, and illustration. Students enrolled in this program develop basic and advanced skills in the important processes of design while learning professional graphics applications. Students receive a balance of instruction that includes visual arts and general education courses that are designed to produce a well-rounded, highly-trained graduate with sufficient expertise to be employable in an ever-expanding job market.
Program Learning Outcomes:
-Students will understand the design process from sketching to final product.
-Students will be able to create unique graphic designs that communicate ideas to others.

Career opportunities include the following: graphic design, UI/UX design, web design, game design, advertising, marketing, publishing, illustration, T-shirt and garment printing, and digital art
